VPN & streaming devices (e.g. WDTV Live)
I've been using a VPN service (Liberty VPN) to watch BBC (iPlayer), ITV, Netflix, etc with great success from here (Perth) and also from Italy, and also an Australian VPN server to watch ABC, SBS, etc from Italy. Connection involves logging onto the VPN server (in the UK or the US or Australia) on my laptop, which is connected to the TV, and streaming via a wireless router. The question is, can I get any of the hardware streaming devices (such as WDTV Live) to bypass the laptop and do the streaming directly? I assume the device would need to be PC-like to enable logging onto the VPN, which I assume rules out the WDTV Live and similar devices. Perhaps this has been covered here previously, but I could not find anything on this. Any help would be much appreciated.
